Firefighters work beneath the vertical struts of the World Trade Center's twin towers, in Lower Manhattan, following the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

With the 20th anniversary of 9-11 approaching, there is an effort to educate children on the terrorist attacks.

The 9-11 Memorial and Museum launched a fund at NeverForget.org to support its educational programs. President of the Museum Alice Greenwald encourages donations and wants instructors to go to 911Memorial.Org for guidance.

“Teachers can learn about our lesson plans, the anniversary in the schools webinar, the digital downloadable poster exhibitions and all the other resources that are available for both students and teachers.”

She says the webinar features first person accounts including family members who lost loved ones and first responders. The webinar is being put in thousands of libraries across the U.S. The museum is launching a national PSA to emphasize the importance of teaching 9-11 in schools.
