New York City is preparing for a ticker tape parade tomorrow for coronavirus front line workers.

The Hometown Heroes parade will feature 14 floats with 260 groups of different essential workers. Mayor de Blasio says they include those in hospitals, educators, transportation and first responders.

“They deserve a march down the Canyon of Heroes because it’s something that is reserved for the greatest folks in history. We’ll here are some of the folks who made history in New York City’s toughest hour.”

Queens nurse Sandra Lindsay is the Grand Marshal. She is the first person in the U.S. to receive the coronavirus vaccine. Because of the forecasted heat, the city will be scaling back the ceremony at City Hall following the parade.
