New York City will launch a major marketing campaign to help bring back tourism.

Officials say pre-pandemic, there were 400-thousand jobs in the city connected to tourism.

“It is literally the shot in the arm that we all need right now to begin rebuilding.”

CEO of NYC and Company Fred Dixon says the city is pumping 30 million dollars into a multi-media campaign labeled NYC Reawakens. It will launch in June.

“We will target leisure travelers as well as meeting and event planners in order to stimulate the group market and business traveler and that has been missing from our city for so long now.”

The campaign will first focus on domestic travelers and later international as the situation with the pandemic improves.
