Coney Island amusement parks are reopening today. Luna Park and Deno’s Wonder Wheel were shut for the entire season last year because of coronavirus. Senator Diane Savino who represents the area says they are back.
“It will no longer be silent in Coney Island. The children will scream again with joy.”
Hundreds of employees have been brought back. Alessandro Zamperla owns Luna Park and says this moment is a message of optimism.
“It’s a very emotional day. We want to spread positivity. It’s been very very tough for every one of us.”
The iconic parks are limited to 33 percent capacity. Face masks are mandatory. Both parks have new attractions this season.
