Phase 3 of reopening is underway in New York City today.
Mayor de Blasio said some 50 thousand people are back at work with a number of personal services up and running again from tattoo parlors to nail and hair salons.
Also, more outdoor recreation has been given the green light. “Basketball, handball, volleyball, bocce all will be up and running again. Dog runs will be open again. It will be more of summer again,” he said.
Indoor dining was supposed to be back as well but de Blasio pointed to coronavirus spreading in that setting in other states. “So that’s something that will be on hold for a substantial amount of time until we can figure out the right way to do that safely,” he said.
