The animals and fish are ready. The people are also ready for the popular Adventure Aquarium in Camden to reopen.
The big day is July 15 and that will mean the aquarium will have been closed 120 days. But Executive Director Vince Nicoletti says that doesn’t mean nothing’s been going on.
"During the break we welcomed two baby Limmeaus, two toed sloths, named Molasses and Honey … affectionately known by the name of Mo … they are … they’re really really really really sweet. Sloths are the slowest creatures on earth … and the sleepiest … nodding off 15 to 20 hours a day … waking up at night … only to eat"
Nicoletti says the residents had plenty of time to get to know each other better.
" Theo … Theo was around … he’s our African crusted porcupine, he was exploring the aquarium, you can find him on social media doing that, and then our African penguins were out and about as well, they particularly liked seeing Button and Jenny, our two Nile hippopotamuses. The penguins even started a book club. With the aquarium’s biologist reading them some children’s books."
Word is the penguins loved a good bedtime story.
