Deeply rooted in the tradition of jazz on one hand and Caribbean music on the other, pianist Monty Alexander innovates tirelessly,
with fearless creativity, to reinvent his own musical journey of blues, gospel, bebop, calypso and reggae, while expanding the dialogue between the genres.
His palette is wide open. On his new recording, A Jamarican In Paris, Monty is joined by bassist Luke Sellick, drummer Jason Brown, and percussionist Bobby Thomas, Jr. The result - engaging originals, a Sinatra favorite, an island sketch of Aranjuez, some mystical blues, and more.
