Aside from working with Ted Nash, Cecil McBee, Lee Konitz, and Dewey Redman, drummer Matt Wilson's own creative adventures run far and wide.
"Love is the whole thing, we are only pieces". The great Sufi poet Rumi wrote those words over 750 years ago. Words that inspired Wilson and his band Good Trouble to make a love record that shares the feelings and moves those feelings through music. Alongside saxophonists Tia Fuller, Jeff Lederer and Anisha Rush, bassist Ben Allison and pianist/vocalist Dawn Clement, this collective reimagines pianist Andrew Hill, drummer Jack DeJohnette, and saxophonist Bobby Watson, there are inspired originals, and a nice feel for the Bacharach/David evergreen "Anyone Who Had A Heart".
