Cory Weeds and Jerry Weldon are two of today's outstanding saxophonists. Weeds, in addition to his record label and radio show, is one of Canada's finest saxports. New Yorker Weldon is cut from the cloth of Gene Ammons, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, George Coleman and other tenor giants, and brings it every time (by the way, Jerry was a favorite of Bob Porter, which in itself brings volumes of accolades.)
Alongside pianist Miles Black, bassist John Lee and drummer Jesse Cahill, Weeds and Weldon take us on a soulful spirited journey through Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis and Johnny Griffin, some Cedar Walton, a rousing Oh, Lady Be Good, and some originals that light their fires and yours too.
