Robert Kool Bell: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, touring the world, and giving back to New Jersey

WBGO's Pat Prescott sits down with the man who put the "Kool" in Kool and the Gang, New Jersey's own Robert Kool Bell.

Kool talks about the band's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, touring the world, and two big events he has coming up in New Jersey:

The 2nd Annual First Lady Awards Brunch will take place on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, 12 noon ET, at the Highlawn, 1 Crest Drive, West Orange, NJ. This event will recognize and honor women who have made major contributions to the worlds of entrepreneurship, non-profit work, community leadership and the arts.

On Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, at 1 pm, the sixth annual Kool Kids Foundation Golf Tournament will be held at the Cedar Hill Country Club, 100 Walnut Street, Livingston NJ.

Pat Prescott is a native of Hampton Virginia and a graduate of Northwestern University. After 5 years teaching middle school, she started her radio career in New Orleans, Louisiana at WYLD-FM. After a brief stint at New Orleans legendary rock station WNOE, she moved to New York to host the midday show at former heritage jazz station WRVR. During her 23 years on New York radio, Pat worked at WBLS, WLIB, The National Black News Network and contemporary jazz station CD 101.9.
