Lizz Wright is currently in full-on milestone mode: celebrating her 20th anniversary as a recording artist by launching the studio debut release on Lizz’s own label, Blues & Greens Records, her exquisite new album, Shadow (released on April 12). Well, the stars are certainly aligning for Ms. Wright and shining quite brightly.
We couldn’t possibly be more excited that the timing worked out perfectly for us to present Lizz and her band in performance at the Yamaha NYC Studios on April 3, as part of our ongoing WBGO/Yamaha Concert Series.
Hosted by WBGO’s own Lezlie Harrison (Come Sunday and Singers Unlimited), Lizz’s set is a mixture of original and “cover” songs from her new recording and a couple of chestnuts from her distinguished career.
