When the Winter Jazzfest announced the postponement of its in-person programming last month, there was no public plan for a virtual presentation. But the gears were turning quickly behind the scenes. This weekend sees the culmination: a series of exclusive performances broadcast at winterjazzfest.com, and on the festival's YouTube and Facebook. Select sets will also be available on Qwest.TV and here at WBGO.

All told, the virtual programming will feature more than 150 musicians, captured in performance not only in New York but also Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, New Orleans, and even Johannesburg and Rio de Janeiro. WBGO announcers will emcee the virtual affair; see below for a schedule.
