The Royal Academy of Music is Britain's oldest degree-granting music school. Since its establishment in 1822, the conservatory has produced a lengthy roster of versatile and creative luminaries; Sir John Dankworth, Joe Jackson, Sir Elton John and Annie Lennox are RAM alumni.
Elftet was formed in September 2015 with eight RAM students, including vibraphonist, composer and bandleader JohnnyMansfield. His compositions expose a variety of influences, ranging from Igor Stravinsky to James Taylor. To celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month we're featuring Elftet's arrangement of Norah Jones' "Painter Song" as well as a Mansfield original, "Wings".
