  • Nanny Assis is a Brazilian- American percussionist, singer,composer, producer and guitarist Based in NYC Area. In 2011 and 2017 , he was the recipient of the prestigious Brazilian International Press Award as “Best Singer of the Year.” Also, on 2017 Mr Assisreceive in Tokyo Japan the award of Brazilian Ambassador on Music and Arts for his work promoting the Brazilian culture in Japan, New Zealand, was is a Cuba, Italy, Russia, Israel, Turkey, England just to name a few countries. Mr. Assis is a composer of the new season NYC-Based Musical “Rio Uphill”. He also has recorded three albums: “Brazilian Vibes, Double Rainbow and Honey and Air.

    His new album "ROVANIO, The Music of Nanny Assis" with maestro Ron Carter, Chico Pinheiro, Mattan Klein, Randy Brecker, Igor Butman, Fred Hersch, Tolga Bilgin, Ulysses Owns, John Ellis and Dani Assis is coming up Summer 2022. Mr Assis shared the stage with Requinte Trio, Vinicius Cantuária, Eumir Deodato, Joao Donato, Kenny Baron and Paul Simon.

  • Over the course of a 40+ year career, Joe Magnarelli has emerged as one of the premier trumpeters, improvisers, composers, and educators in jazz.

    Initially training as a pianist who accompanied songs sung by his father, Magnarelli took up trumpet as a youth in his native Syracuse. He was inspired by lessons with noted trumpeter Sal Amico as well as performances with esteemed tenor saxophonist J. R. Montrose. He also studied briefly with distinguished trumpeter Louis Mucci at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, and others.

    During his first two years as a student at the State University of New York-Fredonia, where he earned a Special Studies B.A. in 1982, Joe was the choir director and pianist for the Central Baptist Church in Syracuse, which he regards as a pivotal experience. He plays piano to this day, and considers it a key aspect of his creative journey.

    Magnarelli, known to friends and fans as “Mags,” moved to New York City in 1986, with the goal of a fulfilling life devoted to music.
  • Camille Aramburu, known as CVMILLE (pronounced kuh-meel), is an international Latin artist from Buenos Aires, Argentina, currently based in Brooklyn, New York. From a very young age Camille developed an interest for music and songwriting which eventually led her to Los Angeles, California where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts. After graduating in 2018, Camille went back to Buenos Aires where she collaborated with producers that helped propel her music to the public. Her first single, “Quiero", gained a remarkable response. Since then, she’s been captivating audiences all across the world with her music while also collaborating with artists from the United States, Mexico, Colombia, India, and others countries.Now settled in New York, CVMILLE has performed all over the city and worked with several producers and artists hoping to keep amplifying her global reach. This bilingual artist’s awaited first EP titled "SuperBaby” is set to be released by early 2022 along with another EP coming out this Summer.
  • The dynamic sextet Blindfold Test, led by drummer Vanderlei Pereira is comprised of specialists in Brazilian jazz and provides an exciting journey through a varied and rich musical landscape. Pereira combines his extensive knowledge of Brazilian rhythms, popular music ,and jazz to produce a drumming style that grooves hard yet has subtle shadings of color and nuance. He is also proficient on bass, piano, and guitar, and is a well-known teacher of Brazilian music. Pereira has worked with Toots Thielemans, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim, Tito Puente, and Claudio Roditi, among others. Blindfold Test’s latest CD Vision For Rhythm was released in 2020. This is bound to be a joyous and lively night of music!

  • Percussionist and jazz vibraphonist Erik Charlston leads JazzBrasil, which has performed at numerous clubs in NYC including Dizzy’s and SOB’s and is tonight celebrating the music of the great Hermeto Pascoal along with others. Joining Erik will be Charles Pillow on sax, clarinet, and flute, Vitor Gonçalves on piano, Eduardo Belo on bass, Keita Ogawa on percussion, and Rogério Boccato on drums.

    Erik has performed with jazz and pop luminaries, including Wynton Marsalis, Steve Coleman, Bill Frisell, Dave Brubeck, Tony Bennett, Sting, Elton John, and Metallica at Madison Square Garden. He also performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, on Broadway, and on countless film soundtracks from Disney’s original “Aladdin” to the upcoming “Joker,” “Gemini Man” and Steven Spielberg’s remake of “West Side Story.”

Jessie Cox’s Black as a Hack for Cyborgification (2020, commissioned by Pink Noise Ensemble) is an open instrumentation work bringing musicians and audience members on a sonic journey amongst planets. Each score represents a different environment – Jupiter, the sun, a star, etc. – where hand-calligraphy is intertwined with poetry and computer code, reflecting on identity, technology, and celestial bodies. *** Please Note *** Proof of vaccination required for entry. Performers on this program are all vaccinated and tested. They will perform without masks at their discretion. Audience members will be approximately thirty feet from the performers. The performance will last for 55 minutes without intermission.
