NYS Senate GOP Leader Says Cuomo Should Resign

The Republican leader in the New York State Senate said he thinks Governor Cuomo should resign.

Robert Ortt said those in politics in Albany have known for a long time about what he called a hostile work environment, threats and bullying within the Cuomo administration.

“It was whispered about. It was talked about at local bars and restaurants, in the salons here in Albany and maybe New York City, but never reported,” Ortt said.

The Senate Republican leader said Cuomo is innocent until proven guilty but wants him to resign because Ortt feels Cuomo can't dedicate the time needed to battle the pandemic while he deals with harassment allegations and a federal investigation into coronavirus nursing home data. “Two investigations on two separate issues which is going to monopolize a lot resources and time," said Ortt.
