The NYPD expanding crackdown program on quality of life crimes following a successful pilot.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch says for the last two months, a new Quality of Life police division in a handful of precincts resulted in 61-hundred summons and 357 arrests for a variety of offenses.

"The abandoned car that hasn't moved in a month, the scooters fly down the sidewalk, the noise that keeps them up at night."

She says the quality of life police teams formed from officers within the precinct will be focused on 3-1-1 complaints. The pilot program will expand to the entire city, with teams being formed in precincts starting in mid July.
