  • Dan Levinson returns to the Morris Museum's Back Deck with an all-star band as they pay homage to the legendary jazz greats including Louis Armstrong, Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Bix Beiderbecke, King Oliver and many more. His band includes Danny Tobias on trumpet, Jim Fryer on trombone, Conal Fowkes on piano, Rob Adkins on Bass, Kevin Dorn on drums and Molly Ryan on vocals. The concert will be held outdoors on the Back Deck and an 8'x8' block is $50 and seats two. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets as the Back Deck opens at 6:30. If it rains, we move inside to the Bickford Theatre.
  • Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center is pleased to present a new Professional Virtual Industry Series offering for those interested in theater. This free winter series features industry professionals who have had years of experience in the film, television, theatre and music industry as producers, writers, casting agents, directors, managers and performing artists.   • Jazz in the Valley (JITV) returns Sunday, August 15, 2021, noon to 6:00 pm, with a celebration of Legacy, History and the Future of Jazz.  Presented by TRANSART & Cultural Services, Inc., the day-long festival features its Artistic Director Javon Jackson and his Quartet and celebrates the future of jazz with four young musicians – the Curtis Brothers, Lakecia Benjamin, Julius Rodriguez and Samara Joy – who are taking the jazz tradition to the next level. JITV observed its 20th anniversary last year as a virtual production, due to the pandemic. This year’s edition features the return of live music, with a diverse assemblage of world-class and emerging jazz musicians.

When he’s not wowing crowds around the world with his masterful jazz trumpet, Terence is scoring Spike Lee films including When the Levees Broke, Malcolm X, Da 5 Bloods and BlacKkKlansman. His opera Fire Shut Up in My Bones opened the Metropolitan Opera’s 2021-22 season. With his quintet The E-Collective, Terence released the albums Breathless, LIVE and 2021’s ABSENCE, a tribute to Wayne Shorter with neo-classical string ensemble Turtle Island Quartet.
