DocAshton and the Root Canals Christmas Big Band Extravaganza
Doc Ashton and the Root Canals expand their group to a 20 piece jazz big band for the Doc Ashton and the Root Canals Christmas Big Band Extravaganza at St James United Methodist Church in Danville. The program is all Christmas big band music. The free concert is on Sunday, December 19th at 3:00 and 6:30pm. Several vocalists will perform with the band. This family friendly program is great holiday fun! Cookies and holiday punch will be served after each performance. See you there!

The world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra brings timeless classics like In the Mood, Moonlight Serenade, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Pennsylvania 6-5000, String of Pearls and Tuxedo Junction back to the stage. Even 80 years after founding his famous orchestra Glenn Miller's music is alive and well. Over 18 musicians and singers bring the unforgettable Glenn Miller sound and perform those songs that everyone remembers... This is a show not to miss for jazz and swing fans alike or the incurable romantics who want to step back in time. The legendary Glenn Miller was the most successful of all the dance bandleaders back in the Swing era of the 1930s and 1940s.
Marc Ribot
Enigmatic guitarist Marc Ribot has released 6 very diverse solo guitar albums. 2010's, Silent Movies (Pi Recordings) has been described as a "down-in-mouth-near master piece" by the Village Voice and has landed on several Best of 2010 lists including the LA Times and critical praise across the board. His live solo performances are unpredictable events which may draw on all of these or none, creating a sonic matrix of memory, free improvisation, zeitgeist, extra-terrestrial radio signals, and much more...always leaving the listener on the edge of their seats.

Blippi The Musical brings the energetic and loveable character Blippi off the screen and onto the stage with world-class production, audience engagement and amazing music. Children from the ages of 2 to 7 years old across the world have quickly taken a liking to Blippi’s charismatic personality and innovative teaching lessons! In the Live show they will continue to learn about the world around them while singing and dancing along with this one of a kind show.
The Newark PorchFest
THE NEWARK PORCHFEST returns to the Historic Forest Hill neighborhood on Saturday, September 24th from noon to 6 pm (Rain date: Sunday, the 25th). This FREE family-friendly event organized by the Forest Hill Community Association will feature professional and amateur performing and visual artists, as well as food trucks serving a variety of refreshments. Neighbors make their beautiful porches available to serve as community stages showcasing an extraordinary range of talented artists. Opportunities will be available to make donations to the event’s beneficiary— New Jersey Symphony. Paula Poundstone
Comedy is back at NJPAC! Join us for an evening with Paula Poundstone, known for her smart, observational humor and spontaneous wit that has become the stuff of legend. She was the first woman to share the dais with the President and perform standup at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. She was the first woman to win the CableACE award for Best Stand-up Comedy Special. And she can be heard weekly as the host of the comedy podcast Nobody Listens to Paula Poundstone, an out-of-control adult education class that meets in a treehouse. Paula continues as a panelist on NPR’s Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me! She is recognized in innumerable lists, documentaries, and literary compendiums noting influential standup comedians of our time.
