Under Cover Music Fest
South Orange Downtown's signature event, Under Cover Music Fest returns Sat June 3rd from 2PM-10PM to the Sloan Street Parking Lot (12 Sloan Street) in the heart of South Orange, NJ. This year there's even more great music to enjoy as NINE cover bands will take the stage. In addition to the music, there will be food and drinks available for purchase from local eateries including Chipoba, The Fox & Falcon by David Burke, Grub & Go, JuiceHub, Martin's Homemade Pretzels, Miti Miti, Pandang, Three Daughters Baking Co, and Osteria Del Corso who will also be hosting a beer garden (cash bar) featuring local breweries. This family friendly event will have kids activities in the Y-Zone from 2-6pm courtesy of the South Mountain YMCA and also new this year, an exclusive VIP area with tents available for purchase. Pop/Rock Violinist Deni Bonet
Singer/songwriter & virtuoso violinist Deni Bonet will perform in concert on Sunday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. on the library's front plaza.
Attendees will need to bring their own chairs and/or blankets.
In case of rain, the concert will take place indoors.
Deni is a pop/rock singer/songwriter and classically trained violinist who was an original member of the nationally syndicated NPR radio show “Mountain Stage.”
Deni Bonet’s music style ranges from roots-rock to folk pop, which combined with her fun, dynamic and exciting presentation, has earned her a 4 sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall, a performance at the White House for President Obama, and touring with Cyndi Lauper, recording with R.E.M. and Sarah McLachlan and many others. With a strong following of fans from her previous tours in the US and Europe, her latest album Bright Shiny Objects has gotten rave reviews and airplay on over 60 Adult-Alternative radio stations. Deni was recently honored to be awarded a grant through the Arts Envoy Program of the US Government to spend a month on a residency in Africa teaching violin, songwriting, and rock ’n roll at a music college in Zanzibar.
