  • Stephane Wrembel and The Town Hall The Django A Gogo All Star concert, the main event for the annual Django A Gogo Music Festival & Guitar Camp celebrating the music of legendary jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. The concert will follow the Django canon and will veer into reinterpretation, improvisation and interplay between artists from various backgrounds, performed at the highest level of musicianship. Alongside Mr. Wrembel (guitar/musical director), performers heralded French guitarists Raphaël Faÿs, Laurent Hestin, and Sebastien Felix; Daisy Castro (violin), Tommy Davy (guitar), Josh Kaye (guitar/Oud), Aurora Nealand (sax/vocals), David Langlois (washboard) and Ari Folman-Cohen (bass guitar).

  • The New York based Cuban jazz ensemble "Hot House", produced and directed by trumpeter Steven Gluzband, juxtaposes traditional Cuban dance forms with the jazz idiom. Gluzband has played with Latin superstars Tito Puente, Mongo Santamaría, Héctor Lavoe, Machito, Celia Cruz, Sonora Matancera, Orlando Contreras, Vicentico Valdez, Ray de la Paz, Larry Harlow, the Alegre All Stars; recorded 18 albums with the Haitian group Mini All-Stars; was a member of the Ray Barretto Orchestra, appearing on over 250 recordings including the Grammy-winning Ritmo en el Corazon and Naked; and has been a member of Johnny Pacheco's band since 2006.
  • Explore over 80 antique fire trucks from the Mid-Atlantic States on display throughout the WheatonArts campus! Now in its 41st year, the Fire Muster & Fire Fighter's Family Day, presented by the Glasstown Antique Fire Brigade, takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Highlights include water pumping displays of fire hoses into the lake, a Firematic Flea Market, apparatus judging and awards presentation, and the dramatic exit of the fire trucks' driving off the grounds at the end of the event.

    Fire Muster is FREE and open to the public, part of "Family Days! Presented by PNC Arts Alive!" All WheatonArts exhibitions and artist demonstrations are free for the day as well. Learn more at wheatonarts.org.

  • Please join New York-based artist Margaret Cogswell on a journey to explore two of her multi-media RIVER FUGUES projects, ASHOKAN FUGUES and MOVING THE WATERS: CROTON FUGUES . These two mixed-media art installations focus on the New York City Water Supply System and combine artistic elements with public policies and historical details related to the political and socio-economic impact of developing NYC’s water system around semi-rural communities located in upstate New York.

This concert will present the core rhythm section of the larger Queens Jazz Orchestra in a special program honoring NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Heath who passed away in January 19, 2020 at the age of 93. Jimmy Heath passed the baton to his protégé, Antonio Hart to conduct and lead the orchestra in his aftermath. The ensemble is comprised of six amazing musicians: Freddie Hendrix on trumpet, Steve Davis on trombone, Antonio Hart on saxophone, Jeb Patton on piano, David Wong on bass, and Vince Ector on drums. They will perform some music composed by Jimmy Heath as well as jazz standard arrangements.
