  • Lakou Mizik is a powerhouse collective of Haitian roots music with a mix of styles that feels mystical and familiar at the same time. In the wake of Haiti’s devastating earthquake, the band came together to show the world that their country was much more than the sum of headlines that were being shot around the globe. Today with their positive messages and roots of revival music, they have become one of Haiti’s hottest exports. Known for their dance-inducing live shows and soulful music, NPR calls Lakou Mizik “a landmark in Caribbean music” and The Financial Times describes their sound as “a joyous combination of Haitian music of all genres”.
  • Singer/composer John "Giovanni" Padovano will bring his solo show to 1st Cup Coffeehouse on Sunday , May 22nd from 2:00 - 4:00 PM. Padovano is also known as The Ironbound Crooner and aka The Coffeehouse Performer. His music is strongly influenced by his very early years in the Ironbound Section of Newark, NJ. Padovano will perform songs from his original song collections that include the titles: "Dusty Road Session" "solo recordings at Baroque Park," " Poesia and Chanson," "The Coffeehouse Performer," and "Wandering Square Impromptu no. 12". John "Giovanni" Padovano has in the past performed locally at Middletown Public Library, Princeton University and at other places in Princeton. His music is called "Poesia and Chanson".

These two are clearly a dynamic duo but they are also outstanding musicians individually. Randall was the youngest member to join the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra at the age of 15. April May was the first African American Female to graduate from the Jazz Education program at the William Paterson University.

  • New to the Roadhouse Café, Mark Adamy is a multitalented keyboardist and vocalist who works with artists around the globe as a live performer and recording artist. This includes his own band: The Mark Adamy Band, which is a group of accomplished musicians that thrill listeners with original stylings fusing pop, rock, jazz, R&B, world, and spiritual music. Mark has won honors including Entertainer of the Year and Boston Music award nominations. He has shared the stage with greats like Chaka Khan, James Brown, The Four Tops, John-Lee Hooker, Pieces of a Dream, Howard Hewitt, Phil Driscoll, Phil Keaggy, Roger Humphries, and many others. Mark has played in many Broadway productions as well as music directing off-Broadway productions in NYC.
