New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is going to tweak the microcluster coronavirus restriction strategy with his winter plan that he’s forming.
Right now the yellow, red and orange restriction zones are largely based on positivity rates but Cuomo wants to add the hospitalization rate and availability of hospital beds as factors for setting restrictions. As far as schools go.
“All the data says the schools are safer than the surrounding community.”
So his winter plan involves trying to keep K through eight schools open.
“It has to be a level of testing that local school districts can provide.”
He’s still working on making that happen and a coronavirus vaccination distribution plan.
