Mayor Bill de Blasio doesn’t think New York City is out of the woods yet when it comes to possible vandalism and violence tied to election results.
The mayor says the city and country went through early voting and election day with hardly any incidents of violence. However,
“We gotta be always concerned and ready.”
The mayor says so far the country has sent a message that it wants a peaceful outcome but that could change.
“For anyone the President or anyone else to be suggesting fraud is absolutely illegitimate and unfair. And that’s the thing to worry about could spark people to negative actions or to act out in some way.”
Many businesses in Midtown and Lower Manhattan remain boarded up for fear of Election related vandalism.
