The Duke Ellington Center for the Arts, in association with The American Tap Dance Foundation, proudly presents this spectacular evening celebration on Friday, December 12 at 7:00 PM at Symphony Space’s Peter Jay Sharp Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street, NYC).
The evening is directed by Mercedes Ellington & Tony Waag.
Such Sweet Thunder is a Duke Ellington album, released in 1957. The record is a twelve-part suite based on the work of William Shakespeare.
Musical Director Eli Yamin and The Duke Ellington Center Big Band, a dynamic 15-piece ensemble, will be joined by an extraordinary lineup of dancers, musicians, and vocalists.
