Federal money coming to northern Jersey for flood relief

Federal money is coming to northern New Jersey communities to help address flooding problems.

The Bergen County communities of Emerson, Tenafly, Leonia and Englewood have had their share of flooding problems over recent years. Congressman Josh Gottheimer says 4.7 million dollars in federal grant money has just been approved for those communities for flood mitigation measures.

"In most cases our towns and cities can't make significant investments like these on their own. It would cost their communities an absolute fortune."

The federal money will go toward installing drainage structures, updating old sewer systems and clearing debris from brooks.
