Firefighters work at Ground Zero, the site of the World Trade Center attacks, on Sept. 11, 2001.

Officials in New York are calling for more money to help those sickened from 9-11 related illnesses.

It's estimated funding for the World Trade Center Health program will not be able to keep pace with the anticipated costs associated with those suffering from 9-11 related illnesses. Andrew Ansbro with the Uniformed Firefighters Association is urging Congress to add more money to the program. He says three thousand New York firefighters currently have 9-11 related sicknesses.

"On September 11th, for most people it's a part of histor., For New York City firefighters, it continues to be an ongoing tragedy as we care for our sick and continue to bury our dead."

343 firefighters have now died from 9-11 related illnesses. That's the same exact number killed on 9-11.
