Newark native, Khajuaan Walker, is the visionary behind Coal Crown Creative; a lifestyle brand committed to exploring what it means to be Black and a self-advocate through programming and self-expression. Be heard, be loved, and be accomplished are the three pillars that all CCC programs and initiatives are grounded in. Coal Crown Creative released “Classically Beautiful”, two filmed discussions that featured Black women and their relationship to internal and external beauty. The production was highlighted in Afropunk, Huff Post, and ForHarriet. Watch the NYC and NJ “Classically Beautiful” discussions.

Coal Crown Creative also has a merchandise line dubbed “The Proclamation Collection”. The collection is a combination of fashion and activism. It encourages people to be mindful of the language they use and the power to create with it. Looking out toward the future, Walker is working to provide safe spaces specifically for boys and men to discuss their mental health needs and to redefine masculinity.

You can catch Coal Crown Creative’s "Audacity Mondays" on Instagram. Every Monday, a featured guest talks about a moment in their life that exemplified their audacity. To hear stories of resistance and triumph and to support the continued work of Coal Crown Creative, follow them on Instagram and Twitter.
