HOLLA & HEAL: A live concert event featuring Magnetic North & Taiyo Na (MNTN) and special guests Ann One, Sham-e-Ali Nayeem, and Treya Lam with proceeds to benefit the community organization CAAAV: Organizing Asian Communities. This collective brings live musicianship to the genres of soul, folk, jazz and hip hop from a distinct and politicized Asian American perspective. The event aspires to be a safe gathering for communal healing, especially in context of the pandemic and spikes in anti-Asian violence. Magnetic North & Taiyo Na consists of Theresa "T-Vu" Vu, Derek Kan, Taiyo Na, and Chucky Kim. They created Home:Word, an album of chart-topping hits in Japan and Korea that Phil Yu of AngryAsianMan called “one of my favorite albums of the year," and writer/historian Jeff Chang described as “an album my family plays when we get together.” In 2021, they released “We Belong ‘21” in response to increased nationwide anti-Asian violence. A dedication to the late photographer Corky Lee, the music video was directed by An Rong Xu with ZZ Design.

A world premiere percussion event featuring award-winning virtuoso, Britton-René Collins. Collins has been commissioned to compose a new work on the theme of time which she will perform in a program of other solo percussion works. Britton-René is a winner of the 2020 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition and was awarded the Ambassador Prize for exceptional musicianship and demonstrating an active passion for creating social change through her music. This concert is part of a two-concert series, On Time, which includes a concert on May 29 by Brooklyn based string quartet, The Rhythm Method.

Robert Bannon’s new show Press Rewind will take you on a musical journey of the stories and songs that shaped his life. Robert, as seen on SNL, in Rent, and as the host of the virtual smash “The Roundtable”, will share the journey he took as an Irish-Italian kid from Jersey, with the colorful people and experiences that shaped his life- expect an evening of some great singing, conversation and hysterical laughter. The show will feature music from pop hits to Broadway and more! Also expect to hear songs from Bannon’s debut album “Unfinished Business” which debuted at #1 on the Amazon A/C Chart and includes the Pride Original Anthem “I Think He Knew Me” (Fun fact: Bannon recorded the album during the pandemic in his home studio and this one original song/video went virtual and was the Pride song of 2021!) Brooklyn based string quartet The Rhythm Method returns to the Morris Museum after their debut during the 2021 season of Lot of Strings with a multifaceted program exploring themes of time. This musical journey literally takes the audience through time and space; beginning outside of the Bickford Theatre with Steve Reich’s Pendulum Music, equal parts sculpture and composition, and continues in the theatre with works by Marina Kifferstein, Paul Pinto, and the world premiere of a Live Arts commission by local composer, Kailyn Williams. This concert is part of a two-concert series, On Time, which includes a concert on May 15 by percussion virtuoso, Britton-René Collins.

One of the hottest new acts coming out of the Desert Blues tradition, Les Filles de Illighadad is a groundbreaking band founded by Fatou Seidi Ghali in Illighadad, a village in the Sahara Desert in Niger. Ghali, it is claimed, is the first Tuareg woman to play guitar professionally. The group, made up of three women and one man (Ghali’s brother), juxtaposes modern electric guitars with tende – a traditional Tuareg musical form typically performed by women, featuring drumming and chanting. The result is a timeless sound that The New Yorker describes as “mesmeric, almost prayer-like” and Pitchfork calls “hypnotic”.
