On Saturday, April 8th, La Pompe Attack, led by guitarist Doug Munro, will play at Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT)’s Music in the Box series. Known for their “hot swing sound,” La Pompe Attack is composed of virtuosic performers, including saxophonist Albert Rivera, guitarist Ben Wood, and bassist Michael Goetz. The concert will feature material from La Pompe Attack’s 2022 chart topping and highly acclaimed release, “Putt Lake Toodleloo.”

Orquesta Aragón is the premier chalanga band from cuba, considered the jewels of cuban music. Their characteristic sound is based on the traditional son with their section of African rhythms and Spanish melodies, on top of which they added three violins. For over eighty years, Orquesta Aragón have set the standard for Cuban dance music with their sweet melodies, infectious rhythms and rich harmonies as they continue to hold its place as one of the most popular and requested Cuban groups, captivating audiences with its signature sound and becoming a "living legend of Cuban music."

For the past 26 years, this program has lifted the confidence, oratory skills and passion of Essex County young men in 7th and 8th grade. The participants give a speech on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "Perspectives on the World Today".



All participants are given an allotted amount of time to present their speech at a preliminary contest. The top seven (7) participants participate in a luncheon during MLK weekend where they present their speeches before an audience and judges. The participants are judged on 10 criteria, including oratorical skills, content, time management, presentation, along with other criteria.

Through community contributions, ticket sales and sponsorships, the Foundation provides monetary awards to the winners.
