Pro-Palestinian protesters continue to occupy a building at Columbia University.

A university spokesperson says students in Hamilton Hall now face expulsion. This is after student protesters stormed the building in the early hours Tuesday morning, breaking windows and causing other damage. Chief Jeffrey Maddrey says officers are on standby but the NYPD has not been asked by the Columbia yet for help .

"We will not be going onto Columbia's property without a specific request from them or not unless there is imminent dander."

Pro Palestinian protesters want the university divest from businesses tied to Israel. The University is refusing that demand. Meanwhile, the university is suspending students who remain at an encampment on campus following Monday's deadline to leave. One student filed a federal lawsuit, claiming the University is not providing a safe environment for students.
