Mets owner Steve Cohen is planning a massive development around Citi Field that includes a casino.
Cohen's proposal unveiled on Tuesday includes a casino, music venue, bars and restaurants hotel towers, bike paths, 20 acres of new park space and more.
“It’s time the world’s greatest city got the sports and entertainment park it deserves,” said New York Mets owner Steve Cohen.
This is an eight billion dollar proposal that would sit on 50 acres outside of Citi Field. Cohen's plans would have to be signed off on by the state legislature. Cohen would also have to win a competitive bid for one of three state gaming licenses soon to be awarded in order to operate a casino.
