The new book The Incorruptibles from author Dan Slater tells the story of the campaign in the early 1900’s to clean up the corrupt and crime-infested Lower East Side. It’s packed with mind-boggling revelations of what life was like in the neighborhood more than a century ago.

WBGO’s Jon Kalish says readers will be shocked with the wild scene painted by this new historical account.

Doug Doyle has been News Director at WBGO since 1998. Since then, Doug and his news staff have received more than 300 awards from organizations like PRNDI (now PMJA), AP, New York Association of Black Journalists, Garden State Association of Black Journalists and the New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists.
