The internationally acclaimed poet Jerome Rothenberg died this week at the age of 92. Rothenberg wrote and edited scores of poetry books that have been translated into multiple languages. His groundbreaking anthology Technicians of the Sacred established the notion that there was poetry in the rituals, chants, incantations, and shamanic visions of supposedly primitive cultures.
