Mayor Eric Adams's Administration is announcing a plan to pour 40 million dollars in revitalizing downtown Brooklyn.

The city is planning pedestrian and roadway safety enhancements including redesigned intersections and wider sidewalks. There will also be new trees and artwork. This covers Fulton Street, Flatbush Avenue and across downtown Brooklyn. Deputy Mayor Mira Joshi says this is part of a broader plan to reimagine business districts .

"We have a responsibility to make our streets as walkable as possible. These improvements don't just benefit our travelers. They benefit our local business. Turns out we like to spend money when we are out and about."

Also coming for downtown Brooklyn, protected bike lanes and a two way dedicated bus lane.
