There's high risk of fire this week in New Jersey because of dry conditions and it comes right after of some big fires.
Bill Love with the New Jersey Forest Fire Service says they have dealt with more than 500 fires on the year so far.
"We have multiple aircraft. We have helicopters with three hundred gallon buckets. All the fire towers are staffed. We are tired but we're getting it done."
They say now is peak fire season because there's lower humidity and not much shade because leaves are not fully grown out. Officials are urging folks to use caution and clean up old leaves and pine needles from gutters, roofs and by fences. The recent fires in Ocean County, Bass River State Forest and West Milford are fully contained but are still burning. They burned thousand of acres.
