Authorities have a driver in custody after a truck went off road hitting numerous people in Brooklyn Monday.
Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell says eight people were injured by a truck in Bay Ridge and Sunset Park. Several of them were pedestrians and several were on mopeds when a truck went onto sidewalks and in bike paths leading to police chase.
"Officers responded to a single male driving a U-Haul truck. The vehicle struck a number of people, ultimately being stopped at entrance to the Battery Tunnel."
Sewell says there's no indication that there is terrorism involvement but if it was done purposely is under investigation along with a motive. The driver shouted to police at one point, shoot me, I am not stopping.
