June may be PRIDE month across the globe but the celebration of the LGBTQ community rolls on in New Jersey this coming week with Newark PRIDE, a week long celebration of specially curated events in the state’s largest city.
WBGO’s Alexandra Hill recently sat down with festival organizer Alonzo Blalock to talk the significance of the event in the post pandemic era, how Newark Pride has evolved over the past sixteen years, and what it means to the community at large.
Newark Pride runs from July 12th through the 18th for a full list of events visit newarkpride.org.
