On this edition of AOS, Broadway star and award-winning vocalist, songwriter and actor Leslie Odom Jr. talks about his May 26 concert at the Count Basie Center for the Arts.
Leslie Odom Jr. is a multifaceted Tony and Grammy Award-winning, three-time Emmy and two-time Academy Award-nominated performer and New York Times bestselling author.
Odom’s latest album When A Crooner Dies features wonderful tunes like “Only Heaven,” a song he wrote about his late grandmother. His fifth full-length album includes 10 original songs that came from his personal experiences.

Leslie blew us all away with his performance as “Aaron Burr” in the Broadway smash musical Hamilton made a triumphant and Tony-Award nominated return return to Broadway in Ossie Davis’ classic American comedy Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp Through the Cotton Patch. PBS airs a live performance of that play nationwide Friday, May 24 at 9pm.
