NY state experiences record tourism numbers

Tourists are flocking to New York State .

A record high 306 million people visited the Empire State last year.

"And fortunately for us, they spent 88 billion dollars. So keep coming, keep spending. Come everywhere, come to the fair."

Speaking at the Great New York State Fair, Governor Hochul says that 88 billion in spending is 12 percent higher than the prior year and also a record high. Officials say all of the state's vacation regions experienced sustained growth. The Finger Lakes, Greater Niagara area , Long Island and New York City all had visitor spending increase by over 10 percent last year.
