For the second time in less than a month, residents along rivers in northern New Jersey have gotten hit hard with flooding. Governor Phil Murphy talked about flooding solutions in Passaic County Thursday.

Governor Murphy saw the Passaic River in major flood stage with Little Falls Officials Thursday.

"We are seeing the same movie again and again and again."

He mentioned a flood buyout program and also elevating homes as possible solutions ins some instances. However, he says something on a broader scale needs to be done long term.

"We need big resiliency investments whether that's dredging rivers or redirecting currents."

more rain is in the forecast for Friday night. It comes as the Passaic River will still be in a major flood stage. Many residents along the Passaic are still cleaning out from a storm that hit just before Christmas.
