Our picks range from freshly unearthed archival finds (Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, Sheila Jordan) to new releases from multi-generational ensembles (Henry Threadgill's Zooid, Johnathan Blake's Pentad, Nicholas Payton's Smoke Sessions and Sara Schoenbeck's Duos.)
