Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 8pm, The Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn presents its mainstage fall presentation with 12 Angry Men...and Women:  The Weight of the Wait in partnership with The New Press.  

12 Angry Men...and Women will be streamed live via YouTube from New York City's very first Black Lives Matter mural with 159 names of men, women and children killed by acts of racially motivated violence.  The mural is located on Fulton Street between New York and Brooklyn Avenues.

The Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn presents the world premiere of Reparations, by playwright James Sheldon and directed by Tony Award-nominated Michele Shay.

Reparations tells the story of a recently widowed white book editor who invites a younger black writer to her apartment, only to find that a night of tenderness and passion turns into a complex and unforeseen morning-after when he threatens to reveal a dark secret.

A Walk Into Slavery

The World Premiere of A Walk Into Slavery, based on Hollis King's recent visit to Africa, was conceived and directed by Dr. Indira Etwaroo, the Executive Director of the Billie Holiday Theatre in Brooklyn.  

A Walk Into Slavery is a multi-media meditation about reconnecting with one's ancestor and redefining one's purpose.

The Billie Holiday Theatre at RestorationART in Brooklyn, in association with Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company in Atlanta, is presenting a new adaptation of Colman Domingo’s much heralded Dot

Dot is directed by Tony Award-winning Broadway and film director Kenny Leon and stars Emmy Award-winning Billie Holiday Theatre alumna Denise Burse as the lead character Dot.  Burse is best known for portraying  Claretha on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne.
