He has shared the stage with greats like Chaka Khan, James Brown, The Four Tops, John-Lee Hooker, Pieces of a Dream, Howard Hewitt, Phil Driscoll, Phil Keaggy, Roger Humphries, and many others. Mark has played in many Broadway productions as well as music directing off-Broadway productions in NYC.
    Mark's concert credentials are extensive with acts such as the Coasters, the Cadillacs, Ink Spots, Jive Five, Silhouettes, Marvellettes, the Charelles, and guitarist Billy Davis. He has jammed with jazz artists such as Warren Hill, Makoto Ozone, Darren Lyons Group, and Lee Robinson at venues ranging from New York’s Russian Tea Room and Knitting Factory to Boston’s Symphony Hall

  • Austrian guitarist/composer Matthias Löscher has made a name for himself as collaborator with many hip hop luminaries including Nas, Common, Sean Combs (aka Puff Diddy), and is the lead guitarist for Ms. Lauryn Hill. In the first half of the program, Löscher celebrates his new "Songs of Life" album release. Using both his skills in composition and guitar, Matthias tells stories that are part of our everyday existence as humans. Part two of the program features Löscher's group The Ruff Pack, combining the improvisational nature and compositional complexity of Jazz with the rustic groove and frenetic energy of Hip-Hop, with guest rapper Akua Naru. The event is free and will be live-streamed on ACFNY’s Youtube channel.

  • The music is back! The producers of the Jersey City Jazz Festival are back with the highly anticipated return of PierFest, a Friday night Latin Jazz series at the J.Owen Grundy Pier at Exchange Place in Jersey City. Riverview Jazz and Exchange Place Alliance have once again partnered to produce this free-to-the-public weekly event featuring world-class music acts, dance instruction, and food trucks against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Each event will begin at 6pm and feature two bands. “It feels so good to get some music happening again! It’s been a very long time coming, but we are so thrilled to present this fabulous collection of artists at one of the most beautiful locations in town,” says Riverview Jazz Executive Director Bryan Beninghove. “This area is just filled to the brim with great musicians, especially in the Latin Jazz genre. The opportunity to catch this music for free is just crazy - you can’t think of a better way to spend your summer Friday nights!” PierFest begins Friday, August 6 with legendary trombonist Papo Vázquez Mighty Pirates Troubadours at 7:30, with Brazilian pianist and vocalist Abelita Mateus opening at 6pm. On August 13 The Gabriel Alegria Afro-Peruvian Sextet opens, followed by the heavily salsa-inspired Mitch Frohman & the Bronx Horns. For the last two dates Riverview Jazz has partnered with Circle 9 Music to present two evenings of artists from their talented roster. August 20 will feature Karen Joseph “Mambocha'' and legendary bongocera John “Dandy” Rodriguez’s Dream Team. Dandy was the musical director for Tito Puente for over 33 years. The series will close on August 27th with saxophonist Ivan Renta Latin Jazz Quintet and Grammy winner Doug Beavers “Sol”.
