Vaccine Shipment To NYC Delayed; Thousands of Appointments Canceled

There are more problems with coronavirus vaccine supply in New York City.  Roughly 23 thousand New Yorkers scheduled to get their first shot this week are having their appointments rescheduled.

Mayor Bill de Blasio says for unknown reasons this week’s Moderna vaccine supply shipment is delayed.

“So we already were feeling the stress of a shortage of vaccine. Now the situation has been made even worse.”

The mayor is now calling on the feds and the state to let the city use second doses being held in reserve.  Both the mayor and one of the city’s top doctors Jay Varma are confident the supply to the city will eventually increase.

“As we demonstrate our ability to vaccinate at a very high level, that will also result in us getting a fairer share.”
