NY To Welcome Sports Fans Back To Stadiums/Arenas At Ten Percent Capacity

Wikimedia Commons

Sports fans can start heading back into large venues soon in New York State. Starting February 23rd, arenas and stadiums that can hold more than 10-thousand people are allowed have spectators with a 10 percent capacity limit.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says this is modeled after the Bills playoff game which required fans to take a coronavirus test.

“If you are negative, you are negative so the testing is the key. We are going to now extend the Buffalo Bills example.”

There will be social distancing, face masks and temperature checks.  Venues have to submit a plan to be approved by the state.  The governor says the Barclays Center has already been signed off on for the February 23rd Nets game.
