Hub City Jazz Fest Returns to New Brunswick

hubcityjazz.com

The 14th annual Hub City Jazz Festival comes back to New Brunswick this week.

The multi-day Hub City Jazz Fest is a celebration of the music’s contemporary performers.

“We’re the only festival in new Jersey that really features contemporary jazz.  The spotlight for us is contemporary jazz. We appreciate all of the other music festivals, but we feel like we’ve found something special that has become a signature stamp for the city of New Brunswick,” said festival executive director Monica Weeks. “This year’s headliners are Brian Culbertson, Pieces of A Dream, Andy Snitzer, Daniel D., and we have a rising star showcase featuring sixteen-year-old sensation Miles Hudgins.”

The festival is promoting its education programs through a special event.

“We’re adding a community piece featuring Tito Puente Jr. performing with the New Brunswick Schools District Jazz Band at New Brunswick High School.  This is free music over the course of four days that is just going to be wonderful.”

Several restaurants in New Brunswick will feature free live performances.

The Hub City Jazz Festival runs through October 25-28.  For more info, visit hubcityjazz.com.
