Parts of New York State are on track to reopen this Friday based on their coronavirus data which continues to head in a positive direction statewide .

On Sunday, Governor Cuomo says the daily number of new coronavirus hospitalizations have dropped to the levels not seen since the state ordered all non essential businesses closed March 20th.

“We’re looking region to region across the state where it would be appropriate to reopen.”

Meanwhile, the governor is trying to increase protection for the elderly in Nursing homes which have been hit hard by the virus. He says staff there now must be tested for coronavirus twice a week and hospitals can longer discharge a person into a nursing home who is positive.

“This virus uses nursing homes. They are ground zero. They are they vulnerable population.”
