De Blasio Says Some Restrictions May Be Lifted by Late May/June

Social distancing rules may ease up related to the coronavirus in New York City but not for a while.  Mayor Bill de Blasio thinks that may happen in late May or June if things keep trending in a positive direction.

“Things where we can start to loosen up a bit but still with real social distancing and real clear boundaries because we can not risk resurgence.”

However, the mayor says it could swing the other way if folks don’t continue to practice strict social distancing.

“We don’t do things right or if we get thrown a curve ball, we might actually have to tighten restrictions further.”

De Blasio says in any scenario, he wants to see the max number of people work from home for a long time.  He also says he’s days away from deciding on whether children may have no chance at getting back to the classrooms before the end of the school year.
