De Blasio: Non -Essential Businesses to Remain Closed Through May

Mayor Bill de Blasio doesn’t think New York City will be able to lift coronavirus restrictions and closures anytime real soon.

Mayor de blasio says coronavirus data is trending in the right direction but it’s not quite where it needs to be and unless something miraculous happens, non- essential businesses in the city will remain closed in May.

“June is when were potentially going to be able to make some real changes if we continue our progress.”

The mayor says the plan now is still to have students back in the classroom in September but the city is keeping an eye on developments in a new inflammatory syndrome in children believed to be linked to coronavirus.
