Twitter/GovAndrew Cuomo

Coronavirus is becoming a serious problem for Staten Island.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says the number of coronaviurs hospitalizations has skyrocketed in Staten Island over the last three weeks

“And the hospitals have contacted us and they say the need emergency beds on Staten Island and we are going to open an emergency COVID patient facility at South Beach on Staten Island."

Cuomo has labeled the northern part of Staten Island a yellow zone and the southern part an orange zone.  So that means tighter restrictions on gatherings, houses of worship and businesses. Meanwhile, Cuomo says Upper Manhattan and Parts of Long Island are now yellow zones and parts of Westchester county are headed for the most restrictive yellow zones.
